Is Vite Ramen Going Away?
If you like seeing what others got, or numbers & stats, you’ll want to stick around. One of the biggest questions we’ve had people ask with the launch of v3.1 and the Vite Modular Kitchen is:
Will the single packets still exist?
Aaaand we might have just shot ourselves in the foot.
See, Vite Modular Kitchen goes as low as $4.90 per delicious meal. With high protein and complete nutrition still, and the ability to mix and match and add flexible nutrition to your kitchen.
So why would you pay more for our regular Vite Ramen packets? We could’ve killed the single packets and forced everyone into bulk orders, streamline processes even more. But that’d be a problem.
See, if we were purely numbers people, we might say differently. In the numbers, we see:
86.7% of people got Vite Modular Kitchen Sets
Meanwhile, only:
13.3% of people got the individual v3.1 Vite Ramen packs.
So just kill the packets, right? Nah. Let’s dig deeper into the data, and understand why raw data isn’t everything.
Interestingly enough too, Vegan White Miso always used to be the top seller, but it’s been overtaken by a new champion:
Woodland Umami Mushroom, sitting at 26.6% of sales of the Vite Modular Kitchen sets...
And knocking Vegan White Miso down to 20.4% instead! Looks like our plant-based friends like Woodland Umami Mushroom more than Vegan White Miso!
Garlick Pork Tonkotsu sits at 26.6%, and Roasted Soy Sauce Chicken is at 26.3%, for reference.
Those are pretty similar numbers, right? But the thing is, we have the Velocity Mastery Set, which has an equal amount of each flavor. That artificially brings all of the numbers closer together. If we remove those from the calculations, then a new reality is revealed:
Woodland Umami Mushroom: 28.3%
Garlic Pork Tonkotsu: 28.3%
Roasted Soy Sauce Chicken: 27.7%
Vegan White Miso: 15.6%
Interestingly enough, Woodland Umami Mushroom and Garlic Pork Tonkotsu actually maintain their tie EXACTLY, down to the decimal point as the front runners! Vegan White Miso falls down to 15.6%. Very interesting change, considering Vegan White Miso actually used to be our #1 top seller!
But what about the ramen packs side, which only makes up 13.3% of orders?
Woodland Umami Mushroom leads there too, with another 30.6% of orders!
Roasted Soy Sauce Chicken brings up 2nd place at 25%, Garlic Pork Tonkotsu sits at 23.6%, and Vegan White Miso sits at 20.8%.
These are closer together, and most people bought them solo... or, interestingly enough, alongside another flavor of Vite Modular Kitchen.
If we were to look at this data, then the answer would be clear:
Get Rid Of Vite Ramen.
But... that ignores an important thing that data can’t capture alone. Simply, why do people want to buy the individual packs?
What if you’re not ready for bulk packs yet? What if you want to explore lots of different flavors? What if you just want one or two meals to take with you somewhere?
These are questions that data alone can’t capture. This is also why a lot of decisions that are driven purely by data, but not the context around data, look really dumb to everyone else who isn’t neck deep in numbers.
Why do some big companies make seemingly the stupidest decisions that literally everyone else can see is dumb?
Because they only look at data as a source of truth. But the problem is, if you do that... you miss a lot of the context, other use cases, and what humans are actually thinking.
Another question we got was: Can you make sample packs of the Vite Modular Kitchens stuff?
Well....
Because the savings we get from Vite Modular Kitchen come down to bulk and packaging efficiencies that we pass on to you, it also does mean that if we were to try and make them smaller serving sizes... well, we’d just be back at our single serving ramen packets again!
And that’s why we’re keeping both Vite Modular Kitchen AND Vite Ramen around. So if you’re interested in just the packets, you can pre-order them here. Scroll down to the Vite Ramen section!
