A taste steeped in milky moonlight, unlike anything that’s ever crossed your lips. Rich, creamy aromas unfurl beneath the radiance of the full harvest moon, sweetening the flavors of mooncakes and pastries served to friends and family.
Milk oolong is steeped in stories, from leaves steamed in milk to tea trees watered with dairy. Yet milk oolongs can develop those rich, milky notes without a single drop of dairy being involved, through a guarded process of how these special tea leaves are shaken and dried. This develops the coveted "milky" profile that combines with notes of orchid and vanilla to make a special tea unlike any other.

Celestial Embers Lapsang Tea
A taste born of embers never meant to be. Pinewood smoke cloaks this dark, peculiar leaf, leaving echoes of earth and charred pinewood. A tea for rare tastes, made better when poured for rarer company.
Once upon a time in dynasties centuries ago, tea farmers had their work interrupted by passing soldiers, who took over their village during the crucial harvest time. The tea, meant to be a fresh green tea, had turned dark and red once the soldiers finally took their leave. Yet, the resourceful farmers changed their fortunes, smoking this tea above pinewood embers, and it’s said it became such a sensation that merchants offered triple up front just to secure the next harvest.

I’m YongYi, and I was first partner talent and recipe writer, then joined Vite as customer service, and now, this is my first Vite project as lead. I’m Chinese-American, and some of my passions are tea and hanfu, a historical Chinese clothing, and now I’m sharing that with the Vite community. "I named our milk oolong Cui Yue Guang Xia, loosely meaning “under the jade moon light”. Jade is a beautiful semi precious stone that comes in many color combinations like green and white - colors that resemble milk oolong. My wish for this tea is that people take the time to enjoy it by themselves, or share it with others under the moonlight. This tea was perfect for the mid autumn festival/moon festival because milk oolong goes perfectly with mooncakes - a pastry traditionally enjoyed during the mid autumn festival."

"My first time ever having lapsang, one of our teas, was at family dimsum. When the wait staff would ask “what kind of tea would you like”, my uncle would say “just a pot of hot water please”. He had a little stash of fancy chinese teas he’d bring and put into the pot himself, instead of tea the restaurant had. One time, he brought a tea I’ve never tried before, and it was so good that I begged him to give me a bit to take home.At home, I did the thing AuADHD do, and did some research. Luckily, I didn’t end up getting stuck too deep in that rabbit hole, but Lapsangs have been one of my favorite teas since. I named our Lapsang Tian Xing Huo Hua, loosely meaning “celestial sparks”, though the english name is Celestial Embers for its smokiness, because, the character for embers and ash are very inauspicious and I didn’t want to jinx my first campaign ever. I think that this tea feels a bit like stargazing - it’s not for everyone, but those who like it can appreciate its qualities. "
