Can you fix ramen supply chains by punching it...?
The big question on everyone’s mind(including me) is:
Where is VMK and v3.1? Do you have a solution for the future?
After the debacle in October, we were basically set back to near square one as we reconciled all of our inventory, re-did our orders, and spent a huge amount of time poring over every document to get things sorted out.
3 months is generally the lead time for getting ingredients.
The bottlenecks are always going to be whatever the slowest ingredient is, and with the holidays, that took a little bit longer.
But I’m happy to say that the final blends and such are being completed as we speak, and we’ll be ready to begin sending NEXT WEEK.
Please keep in mind this is the START of shipping. Orders will ship as we get to them, and this will take a few weeks.
There will be some funkiness here and there, so bear with us. Some oils have hit a snag in production, so we’re re-doing them, but we want to get you the rest.
But waiting this long for ramen sucks, doesn’t it? Yeah, for us too-- If you’ve wondered why we’re selling so many knives and other merch, it’s to supplement and keep ourselves alive as we get our ramen stuff together. It’s really, really hard to survive as a ramen company when... well... you just don’t really have ramen to deliver.
Even after this batch, there’s going to be a lot of little things we need to fix in the current ingredients, double check, etc, etc...
For anyone who’s ever tried to fix messes before, it can often take longer to fix those than to do it right in the first place. There’s always a balance to be struck between the two.
But we do have a solution.
If the old stuff has problems, and matching all the CoAs and double checking on secondary documentation and whatever is time consuming...
...Well, why don’t we just order new stuff that’s pre-prepped the way we want it?
That’s exactly what we did for the next batch, and for the future batches moving onwards. Even beyond that, our new internal Pantry System creates backups and has a safeguard on our Core 4 flavors(including Base):
Garlic Pork Tonkotsu v3.1
Roasted Soy Sauce Chicken v3.1
Vegan White Miso v3.1
Woodland Umami Mushroom v3.1
Our target is that no matter what happens, we’re able to at least keep those Core 4, along with our noodles, available at all times.
We’re also building a new Small Batch System.
It’s something that means you'll never have to wonder where your order is again. No more emailing to ask, no more guessing, and a page that’ll show exactly what’s going on with your ramen.
We’re also revamping our fulfillment system to be able to catch those labels that seem to slip through the current third-party program we’re using, and the new loyalty rewards points system will be discussed and worked on as well!
